The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and Guangdong Vanward Electric Co. of China have announced the voluntary recall of about 37,000 Master Forge gas grills. Consumers should immediately stop using the grill, Model GD4825, which was sold nationwide at Lowe’s from November 2011 through May 2012.
Improper installation of the hose connecting the gas tank and regulator to the burner control can allow the hose to touch the burner box and cause it to melt and rupture when the grill is lit, posing a fire and burn hazard. Consumers should inspect the grill to ensure the hose runs along the outside of the cabinet and passes through the round hole in the side panel. Contact the manufacturer for revised instructions and a warning label for the grill that shows proper installation.
